PROJECT: Side Lighting Towers Manufacturing and Design for Stage Lighting Structures

TAGA Proyectos Escénicos specializes in the design, engineering, and side lighting towers manufacturing for theatres and technical stage installations. In this project, we designed and manufactured eight side lighting towers for stage lighting. As a result, the system provides versatility, structural safety, and operational efficiency across multiple stage configurations.

Engineering Approach and Structural Design

This side lighting towers manufacturing project was developed under strict structural and safety criteria. Therefore, durability, modularity, and full compliance with European standards were key priorities throughout the process.

In addition, the towers feature a modular structural design, allowing complete assembly and disassembly depending on the specific requirements of each production or venue layout.

• Horizontal beams and lighting bars manufactured in high-strength aluminium profiles, combining lightweight performance with structural resistance.

• Detachable base plates in structural steel grade S355J2+N, with options for floor anchoring or castor wheel integration.

• Removable lifting and connection points, enabling multiple towers to be linked together to form higher structural assemblies.

Integrated Safety System

One of the most innovative aspects of this side lighting towers manufacturing solution is the integrated safety system designed to prevent clamp slippage in the event of overload or improper fixation.

Specifically, this solution is based on sequential perforations with safety locking pins. Consequently, structural stability and load security are guaranteed at all times.

Versatility and Installation Options

Each tower is engineered for dual use: floor-standing or suspended configuration. For this reason, the system adapts easily to different stage layouts and technical requirements.

The design incorporates:

• Steel base frames for ground installation.

• Adjustable crossbars for multiple luminaire configurations.

• Anchoring accessories for floor fixation or suspension via chains and certified hanging plates.

Compliance and Certification

Finally, all structures were designed and manufactured in compliance with applicable European safety standards. The project includes the corresponding CE Declaration of Conformity, certifying system reliability, structural integrity, and regulatory compliance.
