PROJECT: Stage lift safety certification – “Operación Triunfo 2025”

TAGA Proyectos Escénicos, a company specialised in stage engineering and technical certification, carried out the stage lift safety certification for the scenic lift installed for the television production “Operación Triunfo 2025”, produced at the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya studios in Terrassa (Barcelona).

The assignment consisted of a comprehensive technical verification of the lifting system, certifying compliance with the applicable occupational health and safety requirements in accordance with current regulations governing audiovisual and stage environments.

System Description

The scenic lift, designed for a capacity of up to 10 persons, consists of:

• Three primary structural beams supporting the platform frame

• Motorised drive system with dual chain transmission

• Lower compensation platform covering the lift shaft, ensuring stage continuity and operational safety

The system provides stable, controlled and safe vertical movement during operation, meeting the functional requirements of high-demand television production.

Applicable Regulations and Standards

The certification process was carried out in compliance with the following regulations and standards:

• Royal Decree 1215/1997 – Safety of work equipment

• UNE-EN 17206:2021 – Machinery for stages and production areas

• UNE-EN ISO 12100:2012 – Risk assessment and risk reduction

• UNE-EN ISO 13857:2020 – Safety distances

• UNE-EN ISO 13849-1:2024 – Safety-related control systems

Following technical evaluation, it was certified that the equipment complies with the established requirements, ensuring safe operation in high-demand audiovisual productions.
